Counting steps w Walkers

I use a walker for mobility while walking. How can I get an accurate measurement of my steps and improved distance

Apple Watch Series 7, watchOS 10

Difficult, because the Apple Watch counts arm movement causing the built-in accelerometer to sense the back and forth movement of a typical walking arm swing.


You could put your iPhone in your pants pocket, and that should move back and forth as your leg moves, and provide step counts.


You could put your Apple Watch on your Ankle and that would count your steps.


But using a walker and keeping your Apple Watch on your wrist, without your iPhone being able to move back and forth will be next to impossible to count steps.
