Why is my “scratch disk full” and what can I do?

MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7 (I wish I had never upgraded the OS, it’s my biggest regret in life). Everything is slow since the upgrade. Photoshop can’t operate.

On the Macintosh HD in Disk Utility, I’m showing 11.34 GB used,

99.44 GB Other Volumes

Ive enabled cloud backup and offloaded all the big files and media libraries to an external drive.

Please advise :)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Thanks, start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
