Why do I need to renew my subscription to deal with 'content not authorised' ? I paid for the music, just want to listen to it.
Since my subscription lapsed I cant play music that I've purchased on my iPhone - why?

If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store you own it and can download it: Redownload music – Apple Support (AU)
An Apple Music subscription only entitles you to listen to music for as long as the subscription lasts, as you don't own the music.
