Sonoma damages external hard disks

After installing Sonoma all external hard disks formatted with Exfat have connection problems. A hard disk with an important project turned out to be invisible and unreadable, causing a month-long delay in work and serious damage. The problem caused health damage to an elderly collaborator. Final cut x has media connection problems and is impossible to perform a good read to create an Aaf file. This is unacceptable. A customer pays to suffer work-related injuries. I don't know if I continue to work with Apple.

As an experiment

I have a 2 GB USB Pendrive that was formatted on a MS Windows Computer using the exFat / MBR Partition Map

Directly connect to my M2 Mac Mini via the USB Port

Immediately received a Pop Up Warning that this drive was not readable and do I what to Reinitialize the drive - choose no.

It did appear in Disk Utilities.

Chose to Erase the same Drive using exFat / MBR

All is good again.

The point being, that macOS does not always play niece with MS Windows formatted drives especially when using a Non Native formatting scheme like Fat or exFat
