Safari virus scam?
I opened my phone and it went straight to Safari. This popped up and said that I needed to install a trusted browser or my phone will be hacked with the “Trojan” virus

Right. Never do that. Conflating the terms "Trojan" and "virus" makes it particularly nonsensical.

Just close the page and forget about it.
