iPhone 15 Pro camera focus issues

The iPhone 15 Pro camera is terrible. There are focus issues in the Apple camera app itself as well as third-party apps like WhatsApp. I’ve consulted the Apple technical team and I was advised to take my phone in for hardware assessment as all diagnostics run fine on the phone. It seems numerous people are having this issue, so I can’t see them taking my phone apart to check the hardware being beneficial at all. Has anyone else taken their phone in for this issue and had a returned phone that was better, ie problem solved? In my opinion, Apple needs to recall these phones, fix the issues and then release it again. I can’t believe they let this go to market with so many issues. Highly disappointing, Apple! Been a loyal Apple user for many years now but more and more Apple is disappointing.

I took my phone in. The technical team here in South Africa confirmed that the camera was faulty. They said I'd have to wait several weeks for a new camera part to arrive from Europe. They ended up issuing me a new device. It has exactly the same issues as the previous one. I would give anything to have my iPhone 13 Pro back. I am still so shocked that Apple is keeping silent about what is clearly a large manufacturing fault. If software was going to fix this issue, I assume it would have done so already as there have been several updates since its release. I rely heavily on my phone for great quality images and I can't believe I paid so much for a TERRIBLE camera. Apple, I hope you read these threads. Very quickly losing faith in this brand.

I was a professional portrait photographer for over 30 years. I used my iPhone 8 for family pictures and they were terrific. The camera produced super sharp images that I printed in 16 x 20s. I recently "upgraded" to the iPhone 15 (basic model) and the pictures of people are never sharp, especially if they are taken from more than a few feet away. What a disappointment. My son and I were photographing his daughter's school play and while all of his photos (taken with a Samsung) were super sharp, including group portraits with many kids in them, my photos were all soft around the eyes.

Same! I recently “upgraded” from iPhone11 to iPhone15 just for the sake of the promised improved photo quality. Unfortunately, iPhone15 photos are always awful. The quality at any resolution or setting configuration is suboptimal. With same light conditions, iPhone11 still does better photos. I’d guess it is a software issue. If there is no fix on the way, I might return the iPhone15 and come back to my reliable iPhone11. Very disappointed!
