How to disable text replacement on my Mac but not on iOS

I have quite a few text replacements setup to make using my iPhone easier. However, I've found that they make the experience of using my Mac worse.

How do I disable text replacements only on my Mac? I (still) don't see any way to disable it on the Mac while leaving enabled on iOS.

I found this post (Text Replacement, How to Turn It Off on J… - Apple Community) with a suggestion of selecting Edit > Substitutions > Text Replacement to disable it on a per app basis but this is an extremely sub-optimal way to handle this.

I'm baffled why a feature this basic and useful that's been asked for for (at least) 3 years still isn't implemented.

Not particularly. I knew where all those settings were. The big problem is there is no way to disable all text replacements on the Mac without also disabling them on iOS (so we seem to be stuck with per-application disabling on the Mac). I hope I'm wrong and there is a better way...
