Face recognition in Photos app

You may need to manually add a couple more photos of the persons face, then let the Photos app continue to analyze the photos based on what you have added. Results won't show up immediately and will continue to run in the background whether you have the Photos app open or not.

On the bottom of the page for the persons face, you also have the option to "Review More Photos" that will further fine tune the pictures it selects for that person.

Try to find some of the photos of X, that should be showing in the People album but isn't.

Photos may have added them to a different album , either of a completely different person or may have split the album. Look at the thumbnails with faces below the photo, when you view the photo enlarged and swipe up, to see the details. Click on any faces thumbnail below the phot to open the corresponding people album. Are the missing faces in a different album, then they should be?

• If there is a second album for the same person, look at the bottom of the album for the command "Add X to People & Pets". Then merge the two albums.
• If there is an album for a different person, where the missing faces have been added to, you are to fix the merged album. How to Correct Merged People Albums - Apple Community This is the worst case, because Photos will have used a mixture of faces from two different people to learn what the person looks like and will make the same mistake over and over again.

Try opening Activity Monitor from your Utilities folder and type "photo" in the search field. Look for the process called "photoanalysisd" and double click on it. What is it showing for "% CPU" and "Recent Hangs"?

50 photos should be more that enough. Do you get anymore options when choosing "Review More Photos" on the bottom of the page for the persons face?

I have had Photos set up with a new library for several hours. No photos have had people identified. The 'photoanalysisd' process has CPU time of 2:13:65, but it shows 0.0% CPU. Are you sure it runs even if the Photos app is closed?

Shouldn't Photos have identified the faces first? All you should have to do is provide the names of the identified people.
