Magic Mouse not moving pointer since 14.2.1 update

Hi!

My Magic Mouse is connected but does not move the screen pointer/cursor since the OS updated today to 14.2.1. I have tried everything - disconnected device and re-paired, booted in Safe mode etc. Nothing works. I happen to have two MM so I tried the other one and that can also connect but won't move the cursor.

Has anyone else had this issue since this update?

Cheers guys!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

Has the Magic Mouse been disassociated ( Forgotten ) from the Other computer is may have been used on

Magic Mouse can only be Paired to one device at a time.

Good point!

I think that is probably it.

Is this a Macbook Pro? It says so in your profile, but then it also says 11.6.

Since you say it is connected, I presume that it shows as connected in the Bluetooth menu, right?

How are you using your mac now? With a separate mouse, or trackpad (*)?

Does clicking the mouse work?

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.

Magic Mouse can only be Paired to one device at a time.

To use the same mouse on more than one computer would require forgetting the mouse on 1 device and Pairing on the Newer Computer

Disconnect a Bluetooth device

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Bluetooth  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Hold the pointer over the device in the list, then click Disconnect.

If you don’t want a device to reconnect automatically, Control-click its name, then click Forget. You have to connect it again if you want to use it later.
