How do I make my desktop folders smaller without changing my resolution

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

Click on the Desktop, then CMD+j, or Finder's Menu>View>Show View Options...

My Finder Menu did not have "View" A support chat showed me a simple way: right click on the mouse and get Show View Options. There is "icoon size" and "grid spacing"
