Macbook Pro panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff800bed2860): nvme: "Fatal error occurred.

Hello,

Running a MacBookPro11,2 with BigSur (11.7.10) and OWC Aura 1TB SSD for few years and from time to time a got such issues. It usually happens after waking up from the standby, everything freezes and had to forcly reboot to get the final report.

Any clue what it might be? SSD is checked and tested with few tools and other pc machines and shows no problems there.

Full stack error is below

Either this OWC SSD is bad, or the Logic Board is bad because that is what the error indicates.

Unless you have another SSD to test, or an OWC Envoy Pro Enclosure (version 2) to compare whether the SSD has problems when installed into the enclosure, there is no good way of figuring out which one is bad since both parts are just as able to cause the problem. However, in my own personal experience I find all things being equal.....that the SSD is usually the weakest link as long as there is no accidental liquid damage involved.

Hi,

You should check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports NVMe controller related error.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

If it doesn't help, you'd better take your MacBook Pro to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Pro there.
