Using an iphone from overseas in Japan, using my Japan SIM

I am living in Japan, and I am planning on buying an iphone from overseas to use in Japan, with my Japanese SIM.

However, I know nothing about cellular bands...frequencies...

I found this list but, iPhone - Supported 5G and LTE networks - Apple

according to this specifications, does it mean the more bands/frequencies it has, that is better?

E.g. I'm wondering if I should either get a U.S. phone, or phone from Canada (which is in the same category as Japan) or one from Singapore, but not sure which one is the best, to get the most optimal performance as I will be using it in Japan with a Japanese SIM.

Could someone kindly help me? Your help will be greatly appreciated, for someone like me who knows nothing about technology!!!

All iPhone models are world phones, so you can use them almost anywhere. Whether you are a GSM or CDMA network customer, you can roam internationally on GSM networks in over 200 countries or regions around the world. Availabilitys of LTE data varies in some countries or regions and depends on carrier support for certain LTE radio frequencies. Contact your wireless carrier for more information regarding international roaming policies and rates.
