storage location not found and backup not happening

Question

storage location not found and backup not happening

hi there,

i am using FCP Trial Version 10.6.10 about to expire in 8 days. it had been working fine since last almost 80 days. but suddenly i am getting couple of issues:

1) whenever i try to make any changes, it gives an error... "storage location not available so save cannot happen - closing library to avoid data loss". however the storage location is very much available and accessible in Finder.

2) From last couple of days, suddenly the backup has stopped happening.

any suggestions to rectify this problem?

Where are your library and media stored? Does FCP have "Full Disk Access" in System Settings->Privacy & Security?

Since the current version is 10.7.1, you may want to try getting the trial for that. I believe this gets you another 90 days too.

Do you mean hide the trial 10.6.10 in the trash and then download the latest trial?

Yes.

I believe that when there is a new version, one can get it and start another trial period. This has been mentioned in this forum a number of times.

the library seems to be corrupt.

in the new library every thing worked fine.

downloaded the new trial version and am using it.
