How to connect Mac Mini MUSB SuperDrive

I recently purchased an Apple USB SuperDrive and tried to connect it to my Mac mini m2 but its not showing at all. I can't locate it on my Desktop nor the DVD can be pushed inside.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?

The empty SuperDrive will not show up on the desktop, only will a CD or DVD once it is inserted into the drive. This of course requires the SuperDrive to be receiving power from the computer.

Make sure the drive is connected directly to the computer and not through a hub or dock.

If you are using a usb-c adapter and port, make sure the adapter is firmly connected to the usb-a cable and then into the usb-c/thunderbolt port of the Mac. And though there is no real "upside down' with the usb-c connector, you still may try turning it upside down when you plug it into the computer.

To see if the Mac sees the drive at all, connect the drive and then press the Option key, click the Apple menu () and click System Information. Do you find the SuperDrive listed under Hardware > Disc Burning when you click that in the System Info sidebar?

also, when dealing with a superdrive, there will be a "CDs & DVDs" pane in system settings when a superdrive is connected even if there is not a disc in the drive.
