White Screen When Opening Contacts

I try to open contacts and I get a white screen that says”To choose a photo, rotate device to portrait.”

Contacts app ios 15.5 blank screen I just wanted to chime in and state that I have had the blank screen contacts app issue for some time now. I find that if I go through my open apps and close any instances of the contacts app that all works just fine. Seems like a bug but nothing I can't live with.

I had the same issue. On advice from the Apple helpline I updated to iOS 17.4.1 and the issue has cleared.
