Apple gift card issue (SNs being different)

Got my daughter a 50$ Apple gift card. Due to SN/code on the card not matching the envelope (Apple factory fault) the card is not redeemable. Have talked to Apple twice, have provided pics of card/envelope but the help is not escalating to supervisor asking for receipt of purchase which I did not keep from before Christmas! They are sending me back to RiteAid (the retail store). RiteAid does not have itemized receipt but have mentioned Apple has been scamming people like this due to their factory issue on Apple cards! Horrible customer service by Apple and no progress. What should I do? All the support emails I am still getting are system ghost emails! typical Apple!

The more likely scenario is the card was stolen and a used card was substituted in the envelope, hence the mismatch. A company in bankruptcy isn’t known for have shoplifting precautions. The receipt is the solution.

The issue is Rite-Aids. They have nothing to gain by providing an itemized receipt. Before I retired I was a store manager for several large retailers and going back to the 1980’s any store I worked at, I could reprint a receipt. I shop at Walgreens and I have copies of every receipt in the Walgreens app on my iPhone. Have you checked your Rite Aid app?
