I lost my most recent back up

Logged in using my Apple ID and lost like 400 contacts

Lost contacts after updating IOS 17.5.1 After updating to IOS 17.5.1 I have lost several contacts. People saved as favorites came up with just their phone number. I contacted both my local service provider and Apple Support. Although backed up to the cloud the last back up retrievable was 3 days after I updated the system. I had to painstakingly go through txt messages to try to identify contacts. Not sure how many are still lost.
