I'm trying to connect via bluetooth to transfer pictures from my phone to my iMac . My bluetooth on my phone, finds my iMac but constantly says it's 'not supported'. I turned bluetooth on and off on both devices . Any advice please?

This is expected behaviour. While there are numerous activities that require bluetooth to be activated on both devices, pairing in the traditional sense is not required. Instead see:

Thanks. I tried and failed. So I tried again and it went into my downloads folder on my iMac. 🙏🏼

The downloads folder would be the default folder for Airdrop files.
