No images in Icon view with Monterey 2

Since I updated to Monterrey, my 2015 macbook air stopped to show images in Icon view for all image file formats, pdf, and video file. I have tried several workaround found on the internet but no ones work for me.

I am managing my pictures in Toshiba's external hard drives. I have never had an issue with that until I have updated the MAC OS to Monterrey. Nowadays I have v. 12.7.2 (21G1974) and is still not working.

Is there any solution? I have to come back to a previous OS?
