Cfast 2.0 card reader disconnecting from Macbook Pro M2 Max

New MacBook Pro M2 Max bought in Dec 2023. Now in Jan 2024 I found out, that when I want to copy files (video - mov) from CFast 2.0 card (exFAT formatted) via SandDisk Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 reader, card reader will always disconnect automatically from the computer (without ejecting) and mostly no files are copied on the disk.

Hard disk has enough free space for the files. I tried all 3 different ports on the Macbook for connecting card reader, I have also tried different cable between card reader and Macbook but disconnection happens again and again.

Mac OS is updated to the latest version.

Same card reader with same CFast 2.0 card with same files on it works well on older Macbook Pro M1, or even Macbook Air M1, but not on M2 model.

I tried safe boot restart but it did not work.

I tried to open the files directly from the card (Macbook sees the card with files, it disconnect when working with them) in Quicktime - it starts playing, then disconnects after few seconds. Also when I tried to save the file from Quicktime to the Macbook, it disconnects too.

CFast 2.0 card is commonly used in cameras. It is not some old type of card...

I have called Apple support where they told me that M2 and M3 chipset models have this problem and they do not know any solution for it at this moment.

Does anyone have same problem or find any working solution for this problem? Thanks.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.1
