So an Apple Gift Card is only good on the APP Store and not for getting apple hardware?

So an Apple Gift Card is only good on the APP Store and not for getting apple hardware? I got an Apple Gift Card for Christmas and can only use it in the APP Store. Is that right? Can I transfer it to my Apple Cash account? if so how?

You can use Apple Gift Cards when purchasing hardware from the Apple Store. See the "Apple Gift Cards" section of Payment, Financing, Refunds and VAT - Shopping Help - Apple
