Infograph watch face not showing # of emails BUT DOES show # of texts !

I made sure I used "mirror iPhone" on both messages AND Mail.... not sure why it doesn't work on the number of emails I might have but certainly does on the number of texts. Love the watch and the information I can see by looking at my wrist. suggestions , as always , will be greatly appreciated.

When I get a text message from a number rather than a name, kind of like a spam or just a blast email about a sale or whatever, I delete it from my phone or read it, it still shows as unread on my watch.
