Apple TV 4K ( 3rd Generation ) compatibility issue with Samsung UHD TV 6 series MU6290

I got a new Apple TV 4K ( 3rd gen ) box for my 65 in Samsung UHD tv 6 series MU6290 ( 2017 ). I plugged it in with the power cord and HDMI cable and then turned on the tv and selected input HDMI2 ( ie. the port that the apple box was connected to ). I expected to see the set up page. Instead, the set up page would flicker on and off. It stays on for a fraction of a second and then goes black, over and over again, making it impossible to set up. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to rectify it?

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cord on both sides? Check for a snug fit. (No need to turn off devices for this.)

Have you tried checking the HDMI ports for dust, dirt or other things that might cause a bad connection?

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

Have you tried a different HDMI port on the TV?
