I had to change teh password on my iphone hotspot but now my macbook won't connect and doesn't allow me to enter the new password

When I click on the WiFi and select my iPad it asks for a username and password. What would the user name be as it cannot be left blank and it is not the name of the iPad (which is "iPad"). How can I make my Macbook forget the Personal Hotspot settings I'm having issues connecting my Macbook Pro (2018) with my Iphone. It does work, but it takes several attempts and sometimes the connection doesn't work at all. It looks like my Macbook stored old info from my Iphone. For example, when I change the hotspot password in my Iphone, the connection still works (sometimes). And on other occasions an old iPhone name appears in the list and is connected. Anyhow, I want my MacBook simply to completely forget all it knows about my iPhone regarding the personal hotspot. But how do I do this?

Never mind, found a way. You can "right click" in "known networks" (not in "personal hotspots") and get a menu that allows you to "forget this network" and that does the trick.
