Unable to add an ICC profile in Color Sync on Mac Sonoma

I have been trying for DAYS to correct color from my Epson ET2800 with HiiPoo sublimation ink to no avail. I am working on a Mac OS Sonoma 14.2 and am unable to add the ICC profile in Color Sync - it won't let me drag and drop it in. What am I doing wrong?!

You can't drag and drop anything into the ColorSync app (I'm presuming that's what you mean due to the lack of detail in your post).

Just put the .icc profile into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder. You may need to restart your Mac before apps will recognize it's available.

You can maybe fix this yourself. It could be the OS doesn't like those ampersands and is trying to interpret them as an escape character. Like the way they're used in HTML.

Double click the profile so it opens in the ColorSync Utility. At the top, click on the second line, Localized description strings. This is the name that appears in your profile lists. The desktop file name is actually meaningless.

You may see only the ASCII name. It just depends on what app created the profile. Mac Script Name is pretty much obsolete. Ignore it.

Change the first two entries to something simpler, but still describes the profile's use. Something like:

Hiipoo Epson ET-2800.icc

Then do a Save As and save the profile out to a new file.

Put that new file in the Profiles folder and test.
