MacOS SMB Connection issue after user log out and log back in
Have a few clients that are having this issue with Apple CPU (M1/m2/M3) or intel CPU and either running MacOS Monterey, Ventura or Sonoma. Using Synology DSM 6 and DSM 7 or using Apple SMB Share drive.
I set up the computer to shared drives connect at login by putting them in the dock. (credential saved in keychains) So user can log in to their computer, click the shared drives, and connect right away. (Never has this issue in the past with older OS).
But with newer macOS (I think the issue starting with Monterey), when I set that up like the above setting after the user log out at the end of the day, the next morning the user can not connect to the shared drives by clicking the mapped shared drives in the dock. it will not connect to shared drives. After the user restarts the machine it will allow to connect to shared drives again.
It is connected to the Synology or Other Apple SMB shared drives using SMB protocol. and I believe it is not happening with AFP. However, I can not use AFP forever because it has diff issues with Apple CPU machines.
FYI, I also tried to put the shared drive in the login items and it works once and then the next log out, when I log back in the login item of the shared drives become unkonwn item.
Any idea if this is a bug that I should submit to Apple radar?
