CarPlay won't connect to my Kia Sorento

I recently got an iPhone 15, and I have followed the phone's instructions on how to connect CarPlay. However, when I try to press and hold the voice control button to set up CarPlay, a dialogue comes up that says:

This feature is available when you connect:

– A phone supporting, android auto, or Apple CarPlay, using a USB cable, or

– an iPhone, supporting Siri using Bluetooth

When I try to use a usb cable to connect to my car, nothing happens on either device. I have a 2020 Kia Sorento, however it used to be a rental car, so some of the buttons are missing. I've looked through the owner's manual, nothing. I've checked YouTube videos, nothing. I used to have an android and Android Auto worked fine. Could someone help?
