APPLE NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON TOUCH BAR FLASHING WHITE LIGHT

Why hasn't apple done a recall on this?

Apple needs do a RE-CALL on either replacing or removing or disabling the MacBook Pro Touch Bar. This is obviously a hardware issue, and not from mis-handling by Users. Using the Warranty argument should not be relevant because again, this is a hardware issue, NOT A DEFECT FROM MIS-HANDLING BY THE USER.

Apple has announced the removal of Touch Bar for later MacBooks saying that the Touch Bar is not popular. This is a weak reasoning and one that seems disingenuous. The real issue needs to be addressed and it's now a moral issue of providing ethical customer service to Users, that is, again, this is a hardware issue that Apple should ethically be responsible for, and not put it on Users to pay for this defect.

The current 13" M2 MacBook Pro – similar to the 13" M2 MacBook Air – has a Touch Bar.

Typically in the past if Apple does release a Service Program, they have offered a refund for out of pocket expense parts & labor for the exact issue covered.

Service Programs are triggered by the percentage of all MBP of this spec vs the number of failures documented.

We are not privy to this %, or have any more insight.

A repair ticket, your Apple Feedback—all are heading in the right direction to trigger this release.

To help in this effort you can submit that Apple Feedback.

A repair at your local AppleStore or AASP will generate a "service record" for the repair on your machine—and this is all you will need to qualify—if a Service Program is issued in the future.

PS. I love my Touchbar and have had no issues. I never used the F1-Fn keys but use the Touchbar all the time.

your posting assumes the two bins are:

• The user beat it up

• Apple designed it wrong

you left out the far larger and more obvious case:

Yours failed.

Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and capricious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'.
