updating iTune library

I recently had to reinstall my operating system, in this case, OS Ventura. After doing, so, I had trouble getting iTunes to work, and when I finally did get it to work, it was missing any recent additions I had made to the library via CD. Those additions are on the external hard drive, that I have reserved for music. But the music app is not seeing them. It was, however, seeing everything I had put on that hard drive previously. Case you ask, I used music to import the CD's and they were there before I had to repair my system would have been there on the time machine backup I used to bring everything back. Is there a way I can get the Music system to scan that external HD and bring back all the stuff I'm missing?

Try Empty/corrupt iTunes/Music library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community. Or use File > Add to Library and select the media folder. All new content not previously known to the library will be added.
