From the beginning of use of a new Mac mini, the monitor will intermittently lose a signal from the computer via the HDMI port. Bought a new HDMI cable from Apple hoping to correct the issue, but the problem continues. Can disconnect the cable at the Mac and reconnect and the signal resumes.
Thoughts or suggestions?

What brand and model is the external display...?
I was having the same issue with our M1 Mac mini and the solution was to move away from using the HDMI port and use an adapter in one of the Thunderbolt/USB-C ports instead.

Please ensure there is no “timer” on the monitor…. Seen that lately on some Samsung monitors… weird concept (just like the blue light going off when monitor is “on”, but just in case.
HDMI port should work properly on a brand new mac. Obviously in your case cable was not the issue.
Do you by any chance use HDMI selector? (I do, for 3-4 computers). This can be the culprit. On 3 years, I had to replace 2 or 3….

Restarted computer w/ newer cable, wanted to see if it helped before responding. Only occurred once since the reboot and lasted maybe 1 to 1.5 seconds. Perhaps this helped
How long is the cable?
Oops - anything over 3 is inviting trouble (which will surely pop in every now and then that too for no rhyme or reason).
Switch to 3, should fix permanently.
