Can find songs by artist by seaching song titles and album names, but artist does not show up in my iphone library

Iphone 14 ProMax IOS Version 17.2.1 Running Windows 11 Pro with latest updates:

Imported songs into itunes on my PC from 4 different CDs by an artist, then plugged my iphone into the PC and performed a Synch. All of the new songs show up on Itunes in my PC, but the Artist does not show up in the Itunes library on my Iphone under the list of artists. I can find them by typing the album name in the search window on 'album' display, but the artist does not show up by first or last name under the library 'artist' display. I have done this multiple times in the past and it worked fine, but since my last IOS update, it no longer works.

A possibility is that the albums in question are tagged as compilations. Compilation artists may not be listed in the artists list. Typically you should complete both artist and album artist fields, and part of a compilation should only be set for Various Artists type albums where each track is by a different artist.
