Cannot reset yahoo account because after migrating everything including mail to newer iphones I forgot the password because it was never required. Now I need access to yahoo outside of my iphone mail app but I can’t find it. How do I get it?

I need to get back into my old hotmail account, *****@hotmail.com, to be able to retrieve my *****@yahoo.ca password.  For years, when I got new iphones all of the contents of the old phone were easily transferred to the new one.  The problem, though, is that I was never required to actually use my yahoo password because the transfer was seamless.  Now, if I want to get into my yahoo account anywhere but on my iphone, I can’t because to reset the password (which I’ve long forgotten), I have to be able to access my hotmail account which was set up to be the retrieval account a long time ago.

It’s insane!  I haven’t used the hotmail account in like 20 years but the process to retrieve it is next to impossible.  But I have no choice because if I lose my phone, I will never be able to access my email again.

One of the asks in the retrieval process is to enter a person that I sent mail to using the account and the subject line of the two most recent emails to that person.  Like how am I supposed to remember that?

There are so many questions that are almost impossible to answer after all these years.  There’s pages of this and if you’re not fast enough, you get timed out and have to start from the beginning.  But you only get a couple of tries before you’re locked out for 24 hours.  

How do i find my yahoo password on my iphone?  The password I found in settings—>passwords is incorrect.  But it must be somewhere because i’m getting all my mail from yahoo in my iphone mail app.
