Does the new iMac M3 have an AFC adapter built in? If so does that require a pure sine wave UPS?
Also, it looks like on the specs that the new iMac only pulls about 85 watts at max CPU, but it has a 143watt power adapter plug....I'm confused there. Can someone savvy please unclog my brains CPU? Thank you in advance.

Never really sure if a pure sine wave is mandatory but I always get that feature. Also when sizing the UPS you need to include all additional accessories that you may want on that circuit such as modem, router, drives, etc. I usually over size my UPS to future proof my needs. My present UPS is a 1350 CyberPower unit.

The USB-C devices can draw a lot of power, so you need some headroom in the adapter in case you load the ports to the max.
Thank you for the reply. It's always better safe than sorry, but the added expense is a bit daunting. I wish Apple would provide a definitive answer on the question. One person commented that they got a buzzing when on battery back up without pure sine. Not good.

Keith is right, in addition to devices, charging takes up power too.
