Which 2015 Mac notebook do you have? It looks to me like the MacBook Airs and the 12" Retina MacBook only supported one external display.

MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2015) - Technical Specifications

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) - Technical Specifications

The MacBook Pros supported two external displays, but I do not believe they supported daisy-chaining (Mini) DisplayPort or HDMI displays.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) - Technical Specifications

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) - Technical Specifications

If you want to attach one of those MacBook Pros to two NON-Thunderbolt monitors, the easiest and cheapest way of doing it would be to run two cables to the MBP. Those MBPs have

  • HDMI ports
  • Thunderbolt 2 ports that double as Mini DisplayPorts

It's easy to get adapters to go from Mini DisplayPort to full-size DisplayPort or HDMI.
