Adobe Lightroom Bad Performance on M2 Macbook Air

Hello,

I have bought the base model of M2 Macbook Air. It has 8 GB ram.

I'm having trouble with performace in Adobe Lightroom when editing photos. It is fine for like 10 mins, but after that it gets very hot and almost unusable for editing photos.

I'm really disappointed with this... I know that the base model isn't much, but I thought that it would be fine for editing some photos.

I had Windows laptop with 8 GB ram and it was alright.

I saw many reviews stated that the base model should handle Lightroom just fine.

It is only me or this base model is not going to cut it?

Thanks!

MacBook Air, macOS 14.1

Is Lightroom running native on Apple Silicon or emulated through Rosetta 2?

I run Fusion 360 on an M2 Pro MackBook Pro and it is incredibly fast--no overheating. Much better than my 2018 Intel-based MacBook Pro.

I always thought the Air line was for doing basic officer work (email, internet browsing, office apps), not anything actually useful. I've never looked into their actual capabilities, though.
