I purchased a new iphone. There were a lot of entries on my journal app on the old phone. I would like to transfer them to the new iphone. How can I transfer them?

I found the journal icloud setting. It is enabled on the both phone. All the memories is in the old phone. How can I move them to the new one? Should I create a new phone backup? It may not be a good idea. The only synchronization problem is on the journal app.
It did for everything EXCEPT the journal... This is my issue too. I'm trying to resolve it asap so I can finish out a trade in.
