Hand gestures on FaceTime

I need to know how to do the hand gestures on FaceTime. It won’t activate it when I hold up one of the signs it doesn’t work I went to Settings multiple times to try to figure out how to activate them or turn them on.

How do I restore hand gesture emojis in FaceTime after iOS update? A fee months ago, when using FaceTime, if I made certain hand gestures it would generate emojis which appeared on the screen to me and the others. This function no longer exists. How do you activate the thumb up bubble during a FaceTime My son put up his thumb and a bubble, appeared, and gave me the thumbs up, and I don’t know how he activated that I’m updated to the operating system
