iMac Core i5 beachballing constantly. EtreCheck report attached.

The iMac I'm on right now has been beachballing constantly. I erased the Mac, reinstalled the OS and the lag definitely improved but the beachballing persists regardless. I did a lot of research online before deciding to post here. I ran EtreCheck to check the hard disk, and it seems that it's a hardware issue, but I would like some additional opinions from more experienced members of the community. Is it possible to extend the life if the Mac a couple of year? Or is it just time to get a new one ASAP?

Thank you for any overviews in advance!

Hey there!

Your USB 3-equipped Mac with a hard disk can have improved system performance by connecting to an external solid-state drive (also known as an SSD). An external SSD as a startup disk can give your Mac additional performance for system responsiveness, apps, startup, and more.

That’s the iMac 8 GB memory and a (slow) HDD configuration.

It’s slow, even when it’s working right.

The I/O speeds shown are about what is expected for that (slow) HDD, too.

Even if the HDD is fine (and it looks okay), relocating to an SSD will provide a performance improvement.
