yahoo app froze my iphone

Try a forced restart.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button

• Press and quickly release the volume down button

• Press and hold the side button.

• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

I signed into my Yahoo email on my iPad, and suddenly the Yahoo app froze my iPhone. It was alarming, as I thought my phone was being hacked. I was able to reset it with by pushing the volume up and releasing, down and releasing and then pressing and holding the side button. The Apple icon appeared after a few seconds and I was back in business. I still don't know what happened or why it did that. It wouldn't let me reboot the typical way. Instead, it kept calling emergency services.

Delete the Yahoo app and configure Yahoo mail on the iOS mail app.
