connecting apple tv to home

Hi all,

I have an Apple TV that I am trying to integrate to my HomeKit.

i have set up the Apple TV but when I select the menu airplay and home it asked me to hold my phone close to setup but nothing comes up on my phone

they are on the same Apple ID

I have tried factory reset on both devices, software update and sign in and out of Apple id

please not on the initial setup of the atv it would let me setup using the phone either
