Using a hub with my MacBook Pro M1

A hub for what?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Hubs are used to connect peripherals to a computer when the computer in question lacks the specific ports for the peripheral, or does not have enough of them. The hub adds more ports (normally USB) or provides additional connections such as HDMI for video, or memory card reader etc...

No special procedure for using a Hub. You just plug it in to a port on the computer, and then plug devices into the ports on the hub.

What do you mean by lag? The bluetooth mouse would not be at all related to the hub. Was there lag with what you were typing on the keyboard?

Nope. Hubs should work directly by simply plugging them in.

Apple does not make hubs.

Is there a process for hooking and unhooking the hub to the MacBook?

Nope. Just unplugging it form the port its connected to is all it should take.

Hubs are what is known as plug and play devices. They just work when you plug them in, and y can unplug them at any time.
