Why is my Mac mini wifi speed so much slower than my iPhone wifi on the same network and next to each other
both the iPhone and the Mac mini are next to each other and the router is in the room just above both of them

The Mac mini's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna is located under the bottom cover, which can causes poor reception from a router that is above or behind the Mac mini. Then to make matters worse, poorly shielded high speed USB cables and other devices like external drives and displays can further reduce the reception.

If you can, test the Mac mini standing on its side with the bottom facing the router to see if that helps the reception. If you are concerned about the Mac mini falling over, there are all sorts of aftermarket stands and mounts available.
