Connecting spanned ProRes 422 HQ 4k clip for editing in Final Cut Pro 10.7.1

Reading and importing directly from a card or drive that the camera originally recorded to, FCPX should span them. If you manually import them, or remove them from the original folder/file structure, you'd have to drop them into a timeline, then export as one long clip.

I don't know how to do this in FCP. If it is possible, then I'm sure one of the guys here can help. However, if not, you don't need to buy a plugin as it is very simple to do in DaVinci Resolve using Scene Cut Detection. This is available in the free version of Resolve. It's a fairly simple input and output process and it does not alter the clips There are basic instructions in the Resolve manual on how to do this.
