using an eSIM overseas then returning

I'd like to purchase a 3rd party eSIM data plan for use while in Ecuador. I'm concerned about what happens when I return to the US. Will my regular phone service in the US return to normal?

iPhone 6s, iOS 15

If your iPhone is carrier-unlocked, and you’re visiting another country or region as a tourist or transient, nothing untoward will happen when you swap the SIM or eSIM. If you are staying in another country or region for some months hiwever, then check with your current carrier.

iPhone 6s shown from the footer does not have eSIM. iPhone XS, XR, and later, and not on some iPhone models originally sold in parts of East Asia.
