"save as" in iMovie

I am done with one my project. Now I want to make another movie based on that.

Normally I do "save as" so it saves a copy. So it doesn't mess with the finished project.

I don't see any option for "save as" in menu.

I am confused with the share file.

Does it save the project or export to movie format?

I want to save as an iMovie project.

Close the project screen to save the project to the Projects Browser. Then go to the Project Browser screen and movie your cursor over the saved project's icon. A little circle with dots in it will appear to the right of the title. Click on the circle and, from the pop up menu, choose Duplicate Project from the options. That will create a duplicate of your project in the Project Browser. You can rename the duplicate and work on it without affecting the original project.
