With Sonoma 14.2.1 suddenly I am not seeing my stage manager windows anymore. They are auto-hiding and I am forced to move my mouse to the left to see them. That feels like a downgrade as I was used to manage my apps (and see them live) in those small windows on the left. No option in the setting are proposed to solved that....Am I wrong?

Fixed by navigating to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Under the "Desktop and Stage Manager" section > Toggle "Show recent apps in Stage Manager" On

It won't let me edit my original comment but here to add: I fixed it. I just had to manually make all of my windows slightly smaller so that there was enough room on the left side of the screen for the stage manager windows to show.
You can't have any widgets on the left side of your screen, that was my issue.
Go to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Stage Manager and turn off 'Stage Manager arranges your recent windows into a single strip for reduced and quick access'.
I'm having the same issue and none of the two solutions here are working to fix it. I liked being able to see all of my windows there all the time, it was so convenient for me! Also, that is literally the only reason I used stage manager and it was a fairly recent discovery for me, so now the whole function feels redundant. Please can someone help 🥲
