Share function in Pages only opens Finder

Hello. I would like to email a document from Pages. But when I open share I only get a finder window. When I searched for an answer it seems to say that Share should give you PDF, Word or other options. Not sure what settings I need to change or if Pages has been reconfigured in some way. Any ideas?
