Apps on iPhone 15 say I am offline

I just upgraded to an iPhone 15, and since the switch 2 apps always tell me I am offline, when I am not. Starbucks and the New York Times. I can access both accounts via safari on my iPhone but not thru the apps. Every attempt tells me I am offline. I’ve restarted the iPhone, uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, rebooted my router, disconnected and reconnected to WiFi, and verified that VPN isn’t on. I also confirmed that 2 factor authentication isn’t enabled on my Starbucks account. Even when using cellular data it says I’m offline. I can access both apps on my iPad without issue. Not sure what else I can do.

iPhone 8, iOS 16

Next, actually DELETE the VPN profile and app. Turning it off does not remove the redirect actions of the VPN profile.
