My kid just got an iPhone and I want to set up approved contacts during downtime. Even though the list of approved contacts is selected in my parental controls, he’s not able to see texts from these contacts, including me. On his end he sees “communication limit - you are not allowed to communicate with “name” during downtime “

Yes, I’ve followed these steps and although my kid has messages always allowed during downtime, he cannot send or receive texts from approved contacts during downtime. He can make and receive calls.
K-12. Did you manage to resolve this? We have the same problem here and I cant’t find a fix.
