Logic mangles imported GB drum tracks
Two distinct issues with drum tracks (live recorded audio) imported from Garage Band to an existing Logic project. Or maybe they are connected and I don't know how.
- sound quality changes (for the worse)
- an unwelcome "groove" feel is applied.
I'm linking to the two clips in question as Logic projects. Links allow download from Google Drive.*
'right' is the project assembled in this order:
- create instrumental project in Logic Pro, using "Drummer" track.
- open the GB drums project in Logic, essentially converting it to a new & separate Logic Pro project
- into the GB drums (now Logic) project, paste the instrumental tracks from original instrumental Logic Pro project.
'wrong' is is the project assembled in a different order:
- create instrumental project in Logic Pro, using "Drummer" track.
- open the GB drums project in Logic, essentially converting it to a new & separate Logic Pro project
- into the original instrumental Logic Pro project, paste the tracks from the GB drums (now Logic) project
on the "wrong" version: I don't have any kind of Quantize applied to the drums. (There is some Q applied to a muted MIDI keyboard track.)
I think (it was weeks ago) that I applied a drum replacement filter on the snare drum after import. Can I get back to the original?
*I wish I could figure out how to make these Logic projects a bit smaller (tried Clean Up, tried Consolidate), as they are each only 4 measures long... but hopefully 300+ MB isn't prohibitive.
Much gratitude to anyone who can help me sort this!
